  3.                    THE HISTORY OF COMPUTING

  5. INSTALL PROCEDURE:
  6.  
  7.    Run  D:\Install.bat (where D is the letter of your CDROM drive)
  8.   
  9.    All files are must be installed to your C:\History1 folder
  10.  
  11.    Takes approximately 145 Mb or less of disk space when installed.
  12.  
  13.    HISTORY OF COMPUTING is equivalent to over 3,000 screen pages
  14.    and contains over 1,000 photos, graphics and illustrations.
  15.  
  16.    (The CD contains over 1,200 .jpg and .gif files, which include some
  17.    duplicates and photos of different sizes.)
  18.  
  19.    The Encyclopedia and Photo Gallery run as HTML documents.  
  20.    Use your Web Browser, either Internet Explorer or Netscape.
  21.  
  22.    The CD also has a directory (folder) of photos only, plus a shareware
  23.    slide show creator and photo viewer (from Polybytes). The folder is
  24.    called Photos. That folder does not automatically copy to your PC, but
  25.    all those photos are also contained in the History1 folder that the
  26.    install program creates on your PC if you run the install.bat program.

  29.    The Install process should place a Shortcut on your Desktop.

  31.    After Installation, use the Shortcut or Point your Browser to:
